Insurance Compensation and Advisory Fees Policy
Advantage 1 Insurance LLC believes you should understand how we are paid before you choose a policy or agree to a paid service.
Insurance compensation
When you purchase or enroll in an insurance product through Advantage 1, we may receive commissions from the insurance company or plan sponsor. Compensation may include an initial payment and renewal payments while eligible coverage remains in force. Amounts and payment terms can vary by insurer, product, and applicable rules. Where permitted, we may also receive other compensation or noncash benefits connected with our insurance business. We will disclose compensation information when required and explain applicable compensation arrangements upon request.
Recommendations and potential conflicts
Receiving compensation creates a potential financial incentive to recommend insurance products or insurers that pay us. Our policy is to consider your stated needs, priorities, budget, and relevant coverage terms rather than compensation alone. We do not represent every insurer or every available product. You may ask which insurers we represent and how we are compensated for a proposed product.
Medicare insurance services
We do not charge you a separate agency fee for Medicare Advantage or Part D plan comparisons, applications, or enrollment assistance. Any compensation we receive for these services is subject to applicable Medicare requirements and insurer agreements. You remain responsible for the premiums, deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, and other charges applicable to your coverage. Purchasing a separate analysis service is not a condition of receiving Medicare insurance assistance.
Optional Social Security analysis and educational services
A separate fee may apply if you choose an optional Social Security claiming analysis, report, or related educational consultation. These services are separate from insurance sales and enrollment. A Social Security analysis fee does not purchase insurance, determine government benefit eligibility, or guarantee a benefit amount, tax result, savings, or other outcome. You do not have to buy insurance through us to use an optional analysis service, and you do not have to purchase an analysis service to consider insurance through us.
Written agreement before paid work begins
Before a fee-based service begins, we will provide a written agreement describing the service and deliverables, the fee or calculation method, payment timing, expected completion arrangements, and any cancellation or refund terms. It will also explain additional-work charges and relevant compensation disclosures, if applicable. No separate service fee is authorized merely by visiting this website, requesting information, or booking an introductory conversation. Additional work or a fee change requires your agreement before that work begins.
Insurance review fees
An optional Social Security analysis fee must not be used to charge for Medicare enrollment assistance or to avoid insurance compensation rules. Any proposed fee for examining, comparing, or advising on an insurance policy requires separate compliance review and any written agreement, disclosures, or commission treatment required by applicable law. A written agreement alone does not authorize a fee prohibited by law or an insurer agreement.
Cancellations, refunds, and questions
Cancellation, rescheduling, and refund terms for a paid service will be stated in its written agreement before you accept it. Any required consumer rights remain applicable. Insurance cancellation rights, premium refunds, and free-look provisions are governed separately by the policy or plan and applicable law. For questions about compensation, a proposed fee, or a charge, contact Lisa Dillon at 813-817-3300.
